Hi all,
I just registered today and was going to edit my profile, however when I tried it returned « You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page. »
I was able to change my profile image, but nothing else.
Thanks for any suggestions, AndrewSorry to hear it! Can you give me the URL of the page you were on just before you got that message? Were you at http://thatcamp.org/people/agrahamt/ and did you then click « Edit » at the bottom left of the page?

Merci, AndrewHi Andrew — sorry for delay, was out of internet contact for awhile on vacation. I worked on this issue a bit and haven’t solved it yet, though I think I’m on the right track. Meanwhile, if you get this, could you try manually going to http://thatcamp.org/wp-admin after you’re logged in and seeing if you can get to the Dashboard that way? You should see a menu option called « Your Profile. » Will try some more things this weekend, aussi.
Là @agrahamt, have worked on this a bit without success — c’s basically only a problem for people who register only at thatcamp.org; if you register through a THATCamp subsite like dpatx.thatcamp.org you can edit your profile properly on THATCamp. Je ’ve worked around the issue for you, au moins, by bumping up your privilege levels, so at least you can edit your profile. Will see what I can do for everyone else!

FrédéricSorry this has taken so long to resolve, but I think it’s fixed, thanks to a bit of volunteer unpaid labor from the intrepid developer and friend of THATCamp Boone Gorges.
To make a long story short, there’s a little conflict with the plugin that runs the forums and BuddyPress or WordPress multisite; when registering through the main site at thatcamp.org, users were given roles on the forums instead of roles on the main THATCamp website. Boone fixed it so that when new users register they’ll be made « Subscribers » on the THATCamp website, which means that the « Edit Profile » link will work properly. I also went back and changed all the existing users with insufficient permissions to Subscribers, so it should be okay for everyone. Let me know if not.

I updated some code on the website today, and when I test it now, logged-in users can edit their profiles properly. Can you try again? If it is still broken for you, please give me your username and I’ll investigate further.

Try now, Mary. Looks like you originally registered four years ago, so perhaps I missed updating your permissions when I did a bunch of people in January. Let me know if it’s not resolved.
I am having the same problem as others in this thread (can’t edit my profile when logged in). It was a few years ago when I was last at a ThatCamp, so perhaps my permissions weren’t updated when Amanda took care of some of them as detailed above. I don’t think Amanda is doing this sort of thing any longer, but if there’s someone else checking the forums I’d appreciate it if my permissions could be fixed too!
