I have been working in academic libraries for about 30 years, and have spent most of my career working with emerging technologies of one form or another. As a library administrator, I get excited about ways we can use new technologies to extend our services beyond our traditional boundaries. One of my research interests is the changing nature of books. What makes a book a book? How do we interact with books? What are books going to look like 5 or 10 years from now? How do we convince administrators that books (and libraries) are here to stay, even if they don't look like the books and libraries we knew in the past?
